Our client is a respected contractor specializing in complex infrastructure and civil engineering projects. They are currently looking to hire an experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a new District Heat Network project in Worthing. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise all site activities, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with regulations and company procedures.
- Oversee the installation and construction of district heat networks or related civil engineering infrastructure, ensuring efficient project execution.
- Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team to ensure smooth delivery of the project.
- Ensure the implementation of health, safety, and environmental management systems on site.
- Monitor project progress, reporting to senior management on milestones, challenges, and any changes to scope or costs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Troubleshoot any issues on-site and provide solutions to avoid delays or complications.
- Maintain clear and open communication with all stakeholders to ensure the project meets client expectations.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager with expertise in District Heat Networks, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of the construction process, including safety, quality control, and project management.
- Experience managing teams and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
- A good working knowledge of relevant legislation, health & safety, and environmental procedures.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- A background in civils and/or energy infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification is required.
- A relevant qualification in construction, civil engineering, or a related field would be advantageous (e.g., HNC, degree).
